Most people consider bipolar disorder as having alternating episodes of mania and depression. Although some people with bipolar disorder experience discrete periods of each, many experience both mania and depression simultaneously. This is called a “mixed episode”.
"Mixed" depicts a mixed episode with three complementary pieces representing manic and depressive features, the upper part being manic and the down being depressed. With the help of the character and her environment, the drawing aims to show living with two extremes at the same time.
