Meryem Betül Yılmaz (b.1997) is an illustrator living and working in Istanbul. She started drawing after taking a course, Art of Animation, during her second year at Boğaziçi University, where she completed her BA. In the following years, to nurture her creativity, she followed courses in painting, sculpture, and ceramics. At the same time, she made visual illustrations using a language she created. Her drawing process begins with a simple character and continues with other creatures, shapes, and geometrical patterns. With these tools, she tells stories inspired by the ups and downs of life. Currently, she is studying for a master’s degree in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design at Sabancı University.
